Our Vision

Lifelong Learning

Our people are our greatest asset.
Rapid technology changes and dynamic global competition demand the continuous acquisition and mastery of new skills and competencies. To help both local businesses and students of all ages compete successfully, our focus is on creating diverse opportunities to build skills, quench curiosity and amplify potential.

Policy Priorities

  • Promote collaboration among K-12 schools, community colleges, Cal Poly and the business community to develop local talent, including academic program alignment, specialized skill-building programs and mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities.

  • Support top-quality, inclusive public and private education as well as sufficient resources to run them.

  • Promote philanthropic support of public education.

  • Expand lifelong learning opportunities through the creation of additional higher education satellite facilities, including bringing classes into existing business facilities.

  • Encourage greater regional connectivity and talent transfer between Cal Poly, Cuesta College and Allan Hancock College.

  • Advocate for more advanced degrees at Cal Poly and bachelors’ degrees at the region’s community colleges.

  • Advocate for more arts and culture education for all ages.

From imagination to reality. See what happens when people come together to bring this vision to life.
