Central Coast business leaders launch initiative to boost jobs, attract new employers

With Diablo Canyon’s closure impending, local business and civic leaders felt the need to unite to launch a new group – The Hourglass Project. The SLO Chamber joins this historic partnership bringing 13 area chambers together under the new banner of the Central Coast Coalition of Chambers, which will work with government, business and education leaders on invigorating the regional economy.

We’re not as divided as it seems, survey shows

The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce commissioned a survey in September to find out where voters believe the city government is headed. Overall, the results showed that voters believe the city is headed in the right direction and that their top priorities align with those of the Chamber.

Governor signs bill to give SLO County $85 million in Economic Relief Funding

Regionalism in action took place with 26 community organizations rallied together in support of legislation authored by Sen. Bill Monning and Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham. With the Governor’s signature on this bill, SB 1090 will brings economic relief to the community and it will aid in the continued safe operation of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant until it’s planned closure in 2025.
